Duties: Clinical coordinator, orthodontic assistant in the back office

My favorite thing about orthodontics: NO SHOTS and NO BLOOD! More than that, I truly enjoy working with people, especially children and teenagers.

Best thing about my job: I love this job because at the end of treatment, I get to see the patients that I have built relationships with walk out of the office with confidence in their smiles. Our patients are great because they are all so friendly and excited for their appointments. Knowing that I was part of that process makes my job complete!

Best thing about working with Dr. Kim: Is that he is a good listener and values everyone's opinions. There isn't a day where you'll catch him without a smile on his face! He really cares about all his patients and staff members.

Mrs. Esther Kang, Patient Coordinator

Duties: Work as a liaison between our patients and Dr. Kim, help with back office duties.

My favorite thing about orthodontics: I enjoy seeing patients and explaining to them what was done each day.

Best thing about working with Dr. Kim: Seeing my son receive his orthodontic treatment from Dr. Kim and the newfound confidence he has in his smile is very rewarding.

Miss Sara Yang, Office Assistant

Duties: I work mostly with scheduling patients. I am also in charge of planning and designing patient contests and bulletin updates. As an employee at this office, my main goal is to make sure that our patients' appointments are as comfortable and welcoming as can be.

My favorite thing about orthodontics: A simple smile can change so many things for the better and I love being a part of that change!

Best thing about my job: I've enjoyed every moment at this office. I can't explain with words the satisfaction I feel when a patient walks out of our office with his/her head held high and a smile that lights up the room.

Best thing about working with Dr. Kim: Is that he treats everyone like he would family. The friendliness of our office is undeniable and it's impossible to EVER be in a bad mood while working! OUR STAFF IS FANTASTIC! Another thing I love about working with Dr. Kim is that I get to meet a lot of amazing people. The diversity in culture and age is astonishing among our patients and I love getting to meet and greet them all! Dr. Kim and the patients I have met in this office have inspired me to pursue a career in orthodontics myself.

Native of: I've lived in Northridge since I was 8 years old.

Family members: I grew up and went to school in Granada Hills with my younger brother Kevin.

When I am not at the office: I like to throw barbecues and pool parties with my friends. I am also very passionate about my club Youth Against Poverty (YAP). YAP consists of determined high school and college students who wish to make a difference though spreading awareness about global issues such as the genocide in Darfur and human trafficking in the States. I also enjoy going out to eat at ethnic restaurants with my mom.

Duties: Patient care, staff management, business management, and creating seasonal fun programs for our precious patients.

My favorite thing about orthodontics: I get to see a complete life change in our patients. They walk in with smile that they are not sure of (some do not even smile) and are transformed into a person who cannot help but smile at the end of treatment because they are so proud of their stunning change. I get to see the self-esteem of our patients skyrocket when Dr. Kim finishes his work on them. How rewarding that is!

Best thing about my job: I love meeting new patients, creating fun programs for our patients, and most of all supporting Dr. Kim's DREAM JOB! It's so rewarding to support your best friend with his dream. Being a middle school teacher, I love learning new things. Working at Dr. Kim's office allows me to do just that. Going to conferences and meeting people at Dr. Kim's office, I learn new things everyday. The more I learn, the more new and varied perspectives I see in my own life!

Best thing about working with Dr. Kim He is so sincere and gives all in everything he does. He doesn't just work with his hand and mind but with his heart. He never settles for less than his best in his career, and he inspires me to do the same by being a living example. Dr. Kim ROCKS!

Native of: I lived in the San Fernando Valley since 1988, graduated from UC San Diego and UC Irvine for my master's degree in my young adult years, taught in the School of Advance Studies (SAS) program at Nobel middle school in Northridge, and I have been teaching Math at Rancho Pico Jr. High School in Westridge since 2005 (and will stay there until I retire).

Family members: My best friend and husband, Dr. Kim, and two precious daughters, Charlotte and Naomi

When I am not at the office: I enjoy teaching Algebra and Geometry to my energetic junior high school students at Rancho Pico Jr. High School in Westridge, play with my daughters, look through American Girl catalogs with my girls, hang out at the bookstore with my family, memorize AWANA verses with my princesses Charlotte & Naomi, draw portraits of my family, do gardening, cook Iron Chef style (look through my refrigerator and create a dish with whatever ingredients that are available; it's fun!), read education related books, read History of Math (ask Dr. Kim what he thinks about that), attend orthodontic conferences, eat out with my teacher friends (Yes, teachers do go out), solve some math problems for fun, and have friends and family over for dinner.
